BLUE AIR AIRLINES

Blue Air was a Romanian low-cost airline headquartered in Bucharest, with its former hub at Henri Coandă International Airport. It was the largest Romanian airline by scheduled passengers flown. In 2017, Blue Air carried over 5 million passengers, a 40% increase over the 3.6 million passengers flown the previous year

BLUE AIR BOEING 737-800 AIRCRAFT REG: YR-BMH

Following the news in October 2016 that Blue Air were to make Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) their newest European base and as part of their plans to become Liverpool's airline, Blue Air launched a competition for the public to design the new livery for their 189 seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft that will be based at Liverpool from the end of March.

Originally Blue Air were to award one winner for the best design, but in the end they liked the ideas from three entries so much that they decided to incorporate aspects from each and create a livery which is an amalgam of all three.

The winners were Kenny Thomson, Will Larmour and Jonathon Davidson, with the final design recognising the City's strong musical links, its warm welcome and famous city skyline. Both halves of the City's football support are catered for too through the use of both blue and red colours.

The carrier operated a fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft and offered flights to destinations throughout Europe and the Middle East.

In September 2022, Blue Air ceased operations due to financial difficulties as well as having a debt of 250 million euros

After 23.3 yrs YR-BMH came to the end of its life and was eventually broken up for spares

These panels were rescued and turned into unique pieces of art

NOTE: Only one aircraft ever received this striking livery and unlike most aircrafts these decals were only ever placed on one side of the aircraft

Resulting in a truly       "One Of A Kind Stunning And Unique Piece Of Art Work"
